Missions & Cultural Studies

Great strides are being made to reach every nation with the Gospel. You can be a part of the vast harvest of souls that is taking place in the earth right now!

Every believer has a missionary calling. Jesus spoke to all of His disciples, commissioning them to "Go into all the world." The challenges of tomorrow's world demand a new breed of Christian missionaries. Elim's one-year Missions and Cultural Studies Program can help you gain a fresh vision and new zeal . . . and be equipped as a member in God's anointed army, "come to the Kingdom for such a time as this."

Through the Missions and Cultural Studies Program, you can receive practical training for the challenges of cross-cultural ministry.  Taught by seasoned missionaries with years of successful, on-the-field ministry experience, the courses in this program will equip you to share the Gospel effectively.

In addition to several basic Bible and theology courses, you'll learn practical information about:
  • Sharing the Gospel with unreached people groups
  • How to work with the indigenous church
  • Tentmakers (missionaries who do "covert" missionary work while posing as tour guides, business people, etc.)
  • How to raise support
  • Keeping healthy on the mission field
  • Cults and world religions
  • Muslim Ministry
  • Cultures and customs
  • Record-keeping
  • Meal preparation
  • Basic automobile maintenance and repair

To compliment your training, Elim offers a course titled Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). As English becomes a "second language" for many of the peoples of the world, this course will provide you with a powerful evangelistic tool.

The one-year Missions and Cultural Studies Program is open to men and women who sense that the Lord may be leading them to the mission field, and for those who are determined to become missionaries and have the endorsement of their home church or a mission sending agency.
