The Experience
"You can expect to sing something new, something old, something spontaneous, but always
FROM THE HEART."

" The music program at Elim has helped to broaden my understanding of what worship really is. After being part of the music track, I feel more prepared to lead others into the presence of the Lord,
allowing Him to have preeminence in the service, knowing that without
His presence all we have been able to do is put on a good show."

"You can expect to be stretched in your understanding of the diversity of worship styles in the body of
Christ."
The music ministry track is wonderful. Dick Grout's insights to worship really come from a shepherd's heart. My class times and experiences at Elim opened my eyes to a lot of "blind spots" that I didn't even know were there.
Elim has been vital in my continued maturing process, and the music
ministry track helped me to concentrate on my primary ministry focus,
as well as precision-tune my gifts.

"You can expect to grow in the character of Christ, and to receive an impartation of humility and
brokenness."
"The music minor classes were a lot of fun. We were challenged, pushed, and encouraged to try our best and to give only our best. Dick
Grout also admonished us as believers to not just strive for excellence
in the music we make, which will eventually pass away, but also in our
integral character as Christians who follow after the Lord, so that we
may be found not wanting in the Lord's eyes."

"You can expect to be equipped to lead others
into God's presence, as a worship leader or a
pastor."
As someone who is called to worship leading and music ministry, the music minor was perfect for me. It gave me a solid foundation in music theory as well as vital preparation needed to handle the inevitable challenges of working together with others in a ministry scene. It
was a life-changing experience, and now I walk out my calling with a
more tender heart, and I have the material I need to continue
practicing and exploring what I have learned. . .for the rest of my
life.
