Worship
Leadership: Learn how to bring people into the presence of God as you study
the technical skills, the nature of Biblical worship and the heart of the
worship leader. 3 units.

Theory: A course in
practical and contemporary music theory, with an emphasis on the chord
structure and progression of the worship music of today. 3 units.

Leadership Lab: An
opportunity to lead worship in a variety of settings, oversee and rehearse
worship teams, learn from the experiences of seasoned worship leaders, and
discuss the practical questions and challenges facing this essential ministry. 3
units.

Worship and Cultural Expression: This
course will introduce you to the wealth
of the various cultural, ethnic and denominational expressions of worship in
the Body of Christ, as well as discuss the attitudes you might have toward
those whose worship and music are different than yours. 3 units.

The
Language of Music: Building
from the Music Theory course, this class concentrates on the art of reading
music and music dictation. Both the
ability to know what written music sounds like and the corresponding ability to
write out music that you hear are important skills to develop and possess for
anyone involved in the ministry of music. 3 units.

Songwriting and Arranging:
Building from the Language of Music course, this class will teach you to
compose worship music and create custom arrangements for the worship team of
your local church. 3 units.

Philosophy
of Christian Music: Be
challenged to dialogue and develop your own view of such contemporary issues
as: “What
is Christian music? Crossover Music, Copyright, Excellence in Music,
the Worship Music Industry, Sacred vs. Secular and the place of secular
music in the life of a believer, Music in Missions and Evangelism, the
Power of Music”. 3 units.

includes learning about the piano, how to make and play chords, basic rhythmic
patterns, and learning how to play simple worship music. 1 unit.

Worship Piano: A follow-up
class to Basic Worship Piano, the intermediate level utilizes a class and lab
setting along with more of a personalized hands-on approach to learning to play
piano for worship. 1 unit.

Advanced Worship Piano:
A follow-up class to Intermediate Worship Piano, the advanced level format is
individual lessons that concentrate on a personalized program of growth and
development in the more advanced stages of accompanying worship music. 1

Basic
Drum Set: This is a course for beginners, and will prepare the student with a good
foundation for properly playing the drum set for the accompaniment of worship
music with a worship team. Learn to
read basic drum music, and develop the ability to listen with sensitivity and
musicianship. 1 unit.

Drum Set: A follow-up class
to Basic Drum Set, the advanced level format is individual lessons that
concentrate on a personalized program of growth and development in the more
advanced stages of playing drums on a worship team. 1 unit.

Worship Guitar: This is a course for beginners, and will prepare the student with a good
foundation for playing the guitar for the accompaniment of worship music with a

Worship Team: Join one of several worship teams that provide worship music for many chapel services
and school functions. Worship Team is
not a class, and there is no charge. No audition is necessary, but you must be
able to sing on pitch, or play an instrument reasonably well by note or by ear.
