Dick Grout, Director of Music. Dick grew up in western New York and graduated from Pine
Valley High School in 1972. He was
saved in 1974 while stationed at Pearl Harbor, playing
drums in the U.S. Navy band. Dick
attended EBI where he met Marji Frink, who quickly became his best friend and - following their Commencement in 1980 - his wife. For the next 9 years, Dick served the Lord in a variety of
musical and pastoral settings. Dick has
dedicated most of his Christian life to the study and leadership of
worship. He has been serving as the
Director of Music at Elim Bible Institute since 1989, where he teaches and
leads worship. He and his wife, Marji,
offer seminars to help churches and individuals clarify their philosophy of
worship and deepen their worship experience. Dick has written several textbooks
for the music classes at EBI, as well as a broad spectrum of worship
music. The Grouts make their home in
Lima, New York. They have five amazing
children, a fantastic son-in-law, and two adorable grandchildren.
